Playdough Fun

Scented Play Dough (This quantity makes a batch of three different colors/scents) Ingredients: 3 cups water 3 tablespoons vegetable oil 1.5 cups of salt 3 tablespoons cream of tartar Food coloring Food extracts 3 cups plain flour, sifted.plus more set aside to make desired consistency Directions: 1. Combine the water, oil, salt, cream of tartar in a saucepan and heat until warm, stirring constantly, until the salt has all dissolved. 2. Remove from heat, cool a little, and divide the liquid equally into three bowls. 3. To each bowl of liquid, add a drop of food coloring and two drops of essence/essential oil For example: * Red Playdough we used Cinnamon extract * Orange we used orange extract * yellow we used lemon extract * Green we used mint extract * Blue we used vanilla * Purple we used Anise (it smells like licorice) grape would have been perfect though * Pink we used strawberry extract I also use Wilton gel food coloring it gives the playdough a brighter richer color 4. Then add a cup of sifted flour to each bowl. Stir quickly to combine. 5. Knead until smooth. Add more flour as needed. I would just add a handful at a time until I got the consistency I liked. 6. Store the play dough in an airtight container or a resealable bag. 7. Enjoy!
