Mike's new Camera

Kaia and her bouncy ball.

Kaia and her playdough. She loves playing with playdough she has a table where she takes it and a bin where she helps herself to her playdough and playdough toys. Whenever we are outside this is one of our first activities. She also likes playing with playdough when I make dinner, since her playdough table is right outside the kitchen I can watch her play as I cook.

This is where Kaia makes us sit, it is one of her favorite spots in the house.

Click on this picture and look at her eyes. Yes I am obsessed with my daughters eyes. They are gorgeous.

You will start to notice a vast improvement in the quality of photos taken. Mike got a new camera for his birthday. It is awesome so I am sure you will be seeing a lot more pictures.

Our misadventure with Bees

When we came outside Monday morning we saw a battlezone. There were hundreds of dead bees everywhere, but mostly concentrated under the tree leading up to the house. We weren't sure what had happened until we looked up and saw a huge swarm of bees. The pictures do not do it justice there were literally thousands of bees. So I called around and the cheapest I found was $175 to remove the bees and that was dead if we wanted them moved to a good home alive the cheapest was $350. After going through the whole phone book the last person I called was the smallest ad there was it wasn't even an ad it was a name and a phone number "The Bee Man". The "Bee Man's" wife answered and talked to me and said there was no need to have anyone come down that the bee's would most likely move away on there own and if not they would come down and take care of it for us but to wait two days. So I was a little relieved I went about my day ran some errands came home checked on the bees saw they were still there and decided to feed Kaia lunch. Mike's Grandma went outside about 5 minutes later and they were all gone. About an hour later a guy from one of the other places I called came by saying he was here to get rid of the bees. I told him that I had told the person on the phonwe that I would call them back if I wanted their services, I didn't call them back therefore I did not want their services. He said that he was told to come here so he wanted to see the bees. Other than the hundreds of dead bees the rest had flown away I told him this he pointed to around five bees that were still flying about and said that he could take care of those. I told him no thank you. He explained that since he had driven down to our house I should pay him. I told him I don't think so, especially since I had decided even if I need someone to remove the bees it would not be his company. He told me a few more times how I should pay him for coming to our house , I explained some more about how that was not going to happen. He stood there for awhile and said he was going to call his shift leader to see what he should do. I told him Okay and went back insde he stayed outside for another ten minutes then finally drove away. Now I no longer work in the service industry but I fail to see how demanding money for services not rendered or wanted is going to create a loyal customer base or any customer base at all. this was seriously so ridiculous.

Playing with Kaia

Kaia and her Uncle Dak
Kaia loves any chair or sitting location that is meant for little people. She makes us sit on the step right in the entry way in the house just because it is just the right size for her. Its not so comfy for us, but that is not on Kaia's list of concerns.

Kaia's in the Camera

I know I already posted this video. But I didn't realize until I watched it again that Kaia is trying to tell Greg something. First she points to the camera and says Kaia (what she calls herself) then when he doesn't pay attention she waits a moment and says "my daddy's got Kai" since daddy was holding the camera. Isn't that so cool. She is totally communicating. We just need to listen a little more.

Kaia and her Uncles

Kaia has so much fun with her Uncles .She loves playing with them and leading them through the house on Kitty hunts. After making Tony throw her in the air over and over again. He asked her to say "Please" if she wanted to play some more. To everyone's surprise she said "please" perfectly. So how could poor Uncle Tony say no. Since this worked Kaia knew how to work her Uncle Tony. So he was throwing Kaia in the air and doing twirls with her for the rest of the night. So thank you Uncle Tony for teaching Kaia to say "Please".

The girls at the park

My brother and I have been getting together on Saturday mornings, so the girls can play. This Saturday when Kaia saw Brooke she screamed (the happy scream) and ran down the hall to her, when Brooke saw Kaia excited she did the same and it ended with them hugging each other. It looked like something out of a movie. You would swear they hadn't seen each other in years. Kaia loves Brooke and follows her around everywhere, she also always wants to hold her hand or give her a hug. Poor Brooke is overwhelmed sometimes. When we went to the park they had a really good time and Kaia only overwhelmed Brooke a few times.

My what big teeth you have!

So I was getting ready in the morning and like always Kaia was playing the bathroom drawer. There is nothing dangerous in there she mostly goes through it to keep occupied while Mommy gets ready. Today however when I looked down there was Kaia flossing her teeth just like a big girl. It was cinnamon dental floss so you can see her reaction to that. She is so funny. I am amazed every day when I realize Kaia's attention to detail. I never knew she paid attention when I flossed my teeth. I wonder what else she notice's=)?

Chopsticks

So we went to our favorite sushi place and the waiter handed Kaia a pair of chopsticks. I was ready to take them away from her when she picked them up and started using them without us even showing her how. Yes our daughter is an absolute genius.
